I am a event planner new to the business and have recently been introduced to someone who would like to work with us when a caterer is required. I would love to help support his business, but I’ve done my research and I know that in our city/state in home food preparation IS NOT allowed. My question is: If I ever needed to use him and God forbid something should happen…who would be liable? The caterer, the planner, or both? Most likely, I will not use his services because I would not feel right, but I just thought this would be a good scenario to discuss with my business partner.
